5 Tools to Step Up Your Skincare Game

You know how when you’re going to a new restaurant, you typically check out the aesthetic and, most importantly, the food that’s on the menu before you even call to make a reservation? We’ve been there, done that. It’s important! And so today, that’s what we’re serving up for you: the menu of our new tools and services, so you know exactly what you want when you come in to see us! We’ve got you covered.

Here are our newest tools to help you on your self-caring journey.

High Frequency

The high-frequency facial at Health Resonates does a lot for your skin. It’s used to treat and prevent stubborn acne, shrink enlarged pores, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, decongest puffy eyes, fade dark eye circles and even rejuvenate the scalp condition and nourish hair follicles for healthier hair growth.

It’s also considered a  timeless and essential skin rejuvenating treatment in the skin care industry! High frequency stimulates cell renewal as it helps improve skincare product absorption by gently warming the skin's tissues. What does this do? You’ll want to book this right away - are you ready? It’s been known to enhance blood circulation, increase collagen and elastin production, eliminate toxins and acne-causing bacteria, encourage lymphatic drainage, exfoliate dead skin cells and improve skin care product absorption.

High Frequency can be included in any of our facials as needed!

Microcurrent

Haven’t heard of microcurrent? This machine is the newest addition to our offerings, and we are so excited to share it with you. This anti-aging technology is non-invasive and reduces sagging skin and lack of firmness by re-educating the muscles beneath the skin, thus, creating a more lifted and sculpted appearance. Microcurrent is like a workout for your face - you’re welcome.

As we age, our facial muscles and skin lose their tightness and tone - but luckily, we don’t have to accept this natural occurrence. Did someone say anti-aging? Microcurrent technology can help reverse some aging effects by increasing collagen and elastin synthesis and promoting healthy cellular turnover. So just because we’re getting into the dull and dry season of fall doesn’t mean our skin has to be dull and dry, either. *Adding this to our skincare routine immediately*

Microdermabrasion

First, what is it? Micro means small, and derm is short for the dermis, which means skin, and abrasion implies the process of scraping away. So if you put it together, it literally means using instruments to create microscopic abrasions in the skin to remove the thicker top layer of the skin.

Any skin type can benefit from microdermabrasion. And if you’re acne-prone or want a substantial skin refresh, microdermabrasion can be used with peels or enzyme treatments! The benefits of microdermabrasion include smoothness, brighter complexion, reduced appearance of fine lines, even skin tone, reduced appearance of dark spots, and cleared-out pores! Yes, yes, and yes!

Microdermabrasion is used in our Sculpt & Glow Facial and can be added to our A La Carte facials.

LED Light Therapy

We love LED light therapy is a noninvasive service with very few risks and downtime. It can be used on all skin types and does not burn the skin if you’re one of our sensitive skin clients. There’s also no pain associated with LED light therapy - it is incredibly relaxing and helps alleviate tension and pain!

It helps promote anti-aging effects and reduces inflammation in the skin. Other uses of LED light therapy include acne, dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, scarring, and sun damage.

At Health Resonates, our LED light therapy sessions are the perfect service to book on it’s own or add to any facial or massage! Pro Tip: adding it after your massage is ideal for those who don’t feel ready to get off the table and want a little nap before returning to real life.

The sessions last 30 minutes and are perfectly paired with meditation - whether that’s to our music or your own! You can also listen to your favorite meditative playlist, listen to a podcast, or even your book on audible. This service is meant to be regularly scheduled sessions (2-4x a week for six weeks will give you the best results) though you can book it for single use as well!

LED is included in all of our 90-minute facials.

Facial Gua Sha and Cupping

You know gua sha is a Health Resonates favorite, but paired with cupping? Total game changer. Let’s recap on what gua sha is. A traditional part of Chinese medicine, facial gua sha is typically used on the body or face. This scraping technique is known to detoxify and cleanse like no other - almost immediate results. It uses a flat tool with rounded edges and is usually made of jade or another cooling stone, such as rose quartz or citrine. Here’s one of our favorites because you can gua sha at home!

In this service, the gua sha tool is used to lift, sculpt and drain toxins from your lymph system, while facial cupping is assisting massaging your fascia tissue, tensing muscle tissue, and draining toxins from your lymph system. They both detoxify the skin, help combat acne, and improve tone. The two techniques used in tandem help calm the skin from the inside out and give you a younger appearance - the perfect duo for your skincare arsenal, ready to help you feel your best and love the skin you’re in.

Gua Sha & Cupping are included in our Natural Beauty Facial and can be added to any facials or massage service.

Okay, so what are we thinking? We want to book them all, right?! We’re super grateful to be able to expand our offerings here at Health Resonate and invite you to check these services out to up-level your self-care. We do this for you!
