You know that post-massage feeling. Your mind is clear and your body is relaxed. An occasional massage leaves you feeling great, but regular massage can do so much more. The work your therapist does in each massage appointment builds on itself, helping your body maintain its relaxed state and your muscles to remain loose even during times of physical and mental stress. In the massage word this is referred to as muscle memory.
The more often you make it in for a massage the better your muscles respond each time. For example; if your new to massage work I recommend my clients come in more often, or about every two to three weeks, until there body gets more comfortable with the work we are doing.
Just like the personal relationships we have, the relationship your body and muscles have with your massage therapist only get better over time. I am so thrilled when I hear my clients say, " As soon as I walk into your office my entire being relaxes". Now that is muscle and mind memory at its best!
